Spend time with two expert native plant growers in this onsite workshop covering collecting, storing, and propagating seed from native plant species.Participants will have the rare opportunity — with permission — to take an assortment of seeds home with them for their own landscapes.
Sarah Coury co-owns Saturnia Farm in Haywood County, which specializes in holistic production of specialty perennials and native plants. She helps manage several large gardens in Asheville, and formerly worked as a horticulturalist at TNCA. Sarah's background is in wildlife conservation, and her passion is creating multi-use garden spaces that provide both high habitat value for flora and fauna, and the healing qualities of beauty for people.
Ben Pick grew up in Asheville and has been deeply influenced by his time in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Since graduating from NC State University in Horticulture Design, he has traveled and gained experience in many different gardens. He now runs a small garden services company, Meadow Edge LLC, and also co-owns a specialty plant nursery, Saturnia Farm, in Clyde, North Carolina.
