BREG Elective - Plant Studies
Join this hike with the Hemlock Restoration Initiative, focusing on the importance of our native hemlocks and the threat they face from hemlock woolly adelgid. Participants will check in on recently-treated hemlocks in the Arboretum's forest through the combined efforts of HRI and Arboretum Horticulture staff. Learn about this dedicated effort to save our native hemlocks!
HRI staff work with a variety of partners and current restoration initiatives to ensure that eastern and Carolina hemlocks can resist the deadly hemlock woolly adelgid and survive to maturity on North Carolina’s public and private lands.
