During springtime in the Blue Ridge, the land reveals a display of new life emerging. Migrating birds return north, wildflowers pop up along the trails and the deciduous trees begin to leaf out, promising shade for the summer months ahead. The woods invite us to slow down, to appreciate the voices of the forest and to be in tune with the cycles of the year. And the forest in spring offers us the opportunity to listen deeply to what is being asked to emerge within ourselves. Join Naturalist Jessie Wilder as we walk Arboretum trails to discover how caring for our place can create a reciprocal relationship with the natural world.

Jessie Wilder was certified as an interpretive guide through the National Association of Interpretation. She founded the Blue Ridge Naturalist certificate program in 2005 to allow others the opportunity to learn more about the natural world of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Wilder enjoys teaching others how to share their knowledge of natural history in ways that engage their audiences and leave them wanting to know more.
