Spring Plants of Interest

Spring Plants of Interest Garden Walk Through

ONSITE | Wednesday, April 19, 1- 2 p.m.

Instructor: Clara Curtis

$24 Non-member Adult**

(**Arboretum Members receive a 10% discount on all classes.)

Course Capacity: 12

Join Clara Curtis, the Arboretum's Senior Director for Mission Delivery, in this walk through the spring seasonal landscape. With decades of design and horticulture oversight at the Arboretum, Clara is our walking institutional memory for how plants came to be chosen for the gardens and what transformation the landscape has seen over 35 years of growing in place. You can have no better informed guide and no one who makes plants more interesting! This class is designed to provide a small-group experience to complement our on demand Plants of Interest course, which is a Blue Ridge Eco Gardener requirement.

Clara Curtis is the senior director for mission delivery at The North Carolina Arboretum. She holds a bachelor’s degree in horticultural science from N.C. State University. Her designs for the Arboretum’s Quilt Garden, container gardens and seasonal and permanent landscapes are featured for the 28th season and have been featured on UNC-TV and with the Emmy® Award winning Show, “In the Garden with Bryce Lane”, Our State magazine and by the Associated Press. Curtis received the Award of Merit from the American Public Gardens Association for her career achievements.
